6 Delicious Ashwagandha Recipes
Granted Ashwagandha tastes nothing like how cocoa or chocolate powder does when added to milk or water. In fact, the taste and odour are pungent enough to throw the most numbed taste buds into disgust. 

As one of the key herbs in Ayurvedic traditional medicine every part the herb can be used for its medicinal properties. Ashwagandha is known to reduce anxiety, insomnia and improving your sexual health by reducing oxidative stress and regulating your hormones. Take at least 5 grams of ashwagandha on a daily basis.  

If the taste bothers you like it does for the most of us, here are some recipes that can make it bearable and allow you to include into your diet every day. 

1. Ashwagandha tea with milk and cardamom

This is one of the most common ways to consume Ashwagandha. Ayurveda recommends drinking up to 2 cups daily to relieve you from stress and fatigue. 

How to prepare it

What you need

-1/2 cup milk

-1/2 of water

-1 teaspoon Organic Ashwagandha powder (5 grams)

- A dash of honey (only if you need it for sweetening your drink)

Instructions

Mix the milk, water and Ashwagandha powder together and heat it till it's lukewarm. Add the cardamom while the mixture is lukewarm and drink it twice in the day. 

2. Ashwagandha Banana Smoothie

Who doesn’t like a banana smoothie? You can either use regular dairy or a nondairy source like almonds, peanuts, cashew nuts, butter etc. 

How to prepare it

What you need

-1 banana

-1 cup milk (any kind that you prefer, use whole organic milk if you can digest it)

-1 teaspoon Organic Ashwagandha powder (5 grams)

-1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

-1/2 cup of nuts or seeds

-A dash of honey (only if you need it for sweetening your drink)

Instructions

Place the following ingredients into a blender and blend all these ingredients together until smooth. 

3. Ashwagandha Turmeric Milk

Turmeric and Ashwagandha might not sound like the most appealing combination, but you can sweeten the deal with other ingredients; as both these ingredients are highly medicinal. 

How to prepare it

What you need

-1 teaspoon Organic Ashwagandha Powder (5 grams)

-1 teaspoon turmeric powder (3-5 grams)

-1/2 a cup organic whole milk

-1 teaspoon of coconut oil 

Instructions

Mix the milk, turmeric and ashwagandha powder together and heat it till it's lukewarm. And then add the coconut oil.

4. Ashwagandha ghee combination

This is a potent combination of two of the most widely used ingredients the Ayurvedic tradition. Ghee was used for its anti-inflammatory and its cholesterol-lowering properties.

How to prepare it

What you need

-1-2 teaspoons of Organic Ashwagandha powder

-1 teaspoon of ghee

-1 teaspoon of date sugar

Instructions

Mix the following ingredients in a glass of milk and water and consume it. If you want to have it later store it in the refrigerator. 

5. Ashwagandha chocolate combination

Do you find it hard to resist the temptation of indulging in an evening snack? Here’s you can make it healthier and therapeutic.

How to prepare it

What you need

-1/2 cup organic ashwagandha powder

-1/2 cup maca powder

-1 tablespoon of raw cocoa powder

-1/2 cup coconut butter

-1/2 cup ghee

-1/2 cup of honey

Instructions

Mix all the ingredients into a chocolate mould and place into the freezer to allow it to set. Have or store it in a cool place thereafter. 

6. Ashwagandha Healthy Balls

 As it is very bitter in taste, simply make sweet laddus using Ahwagandha powder. Further Ashwagandha sweet laddus are very easy to make and tasty too. You can store this in an air-tight container for 10 to 15 days.

What you need

-1/2 cup palm jaggery
-1/4 cup Organic Ashwagandha powder
-3 tbsp ghee
-1 tsp cardamom powder
-1 tsp cinnamon powder
-1 tbsp wheat flour

Instructions

Heat a thick bottomed pan on low to medium flame and add palm jaggery and little water. Keep on stirring this until the jaggery completely melts and forms a string like consistency.
Now add Ashwagandha powder. Give it a good mix so that it combines well with jaggery.
Similarly add ghee and again mix it well. Also lower the flame and add cardamom powder and wheat flour. Again mix it well and turnoff the heat.
Allow to cool this prepared mixture for 5 minutes. When it is slightly warm, shape into balls. Make sure the balls not too small and not too big. Approximately one ounce each. Serve or store in an air-tight container or glass jar.
